The Protestant Parish of Naumburg invites you to join the St. John's Day service at the cemetery of the Naumburg Cathedral and spend a special hour in a very special place. St. John's Day is still celebrated today in the Protestant Church as the peak of summer. At the center of the celebration is the Jewish preacher John the Baptist, who appeared in Galilee and baptized Jesus at the Jordan River. The day is associated with the summer solstice and the custom of lighting a fire.
