The KinderDomBauhütte opens its doors and also offers guided tours for children
The open workshop is aimed at all admission-paying visitors to the cathedral. Children from the age of five can then experiment with paper works and collages, printing, working with fabric or creating paper in the KinderDomBauhütte, independently of their parents who are exploring the cathedral. Parents are also welcome to accompany their children, in which case there is no age limit. The material costs for the projects start at 3 euros.
In addition to the audio guide for adults, there has already been a children's audio guide for a visit to the cathedral for many years, but a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site will also offer something new for children: in addition to the public tours, children's tours will be offered every Thursday during the Saxony-Anhalt school holidays from May.
"The best thing about working in the KinderDomBauhütte is seeing the children's eyes light up when they discover something special in the cathedral or show me the pieces they've made, and that just happens even more often now - I look forward to it," says Martha Neupert.
Of course, the KinderDomBauhütte will continue to offer tried and tested activities, such as holiday activities, family days, afternoons for adults and bookable projects for school classes, other groups and children's birthday parties. However, new projects will also be added over the course of the year, such as the Discovery Tour on the cathedral grounds and Crystal Star Twinkling.
