Step into the world of Uta. During the Easter holidays, children take a close look at our World Heritage Site and immerse themselves in the fascinating work of the 13th century builders. First we explore the cathedral together and explore works of art from almost 1000 years of history. Then the children slip into the role of glazier, stonemason, master builder or craftsman and give free rein to their creativity.
Please contact our visitor centre to book in advance.
HolidayActions during the Easter vacations
Monday, 25 March 2024 | 10-12 a.m.
Let there be light. Creative candlemaking
Designing a customised candle
Cost: 7 €
On a tour of the cathedral, we look at the symbolic meaning of candles and explore the occasions on which they are still used today. Afterwards, each participant will design their own personalised Easter or family candle for themselves or to give as a gift.
Wednesday, 27 March 2024 | 10-12 a.m.
Altar workshop - Cranach vs. modernism
Production of a centrepiece of the Cranach-Triegel altarpiece
Cost: 7 €
With the return of the Marian altar to the west choir of Naumburg Cathedral, we want to follow in the footsteps of the artist Michael Triegel. Following his example, you will create your own centrepiece to complement the famous Cranach altar. You will also learn what an altar is and the significance of the saints.
Each child receives a pass, which is stamped at each visit. For six stamps there is a little surprise.
Our places at the vacation activities are primarily reserved for vacation children. Accompanying persons (max. 1 per child) receive a discounted admission to Naumburg Cathedral incl. participation in a public cathedral tour. They pay only 9,00 € instead of 12,50 €.
After school groups can also book our holiday activities separately.
